Day 1 in Bamberg
Start the day by visiting Kloster Michaelsberg, a monastery perched on top of one of the 7 hills, and enjoy views of the city. Head to Neue Residenz and be sure to visit the courtyard with its beautiful garden.
The Alte Hofhaltung houses the city’s Historical Museum and is situated just a short distance from the Neue Residenz. Another attraction of the city is the Bamberg Cathedral, one of the most remarkable buildings in Bamberg with its Gothic-Romanesque architecture.
Visit Schlenkerla, a brewery located in the old town. From May until the end of September, it operates its Biergarten (Beer Garden).
The Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) is one of the symbols of the city and is located on the Obere Brücke bridge, from the bridge you will have beautiful views of Klein Venedig (the former fishing district along the Regnitz River).
