Day 1 in Mannheim

Start the day by visiting Friedrichsplatz, where the Mannheimer Wasserturm, a symbol of the city, is located. Head to Jesuitenkirche, a baroque church completed in 1760. Close to the church is the Palais Bretzenheim, one of the most important historic aristocratic houses in Mannheim.

1. Wasserturm

The symbol of the city of Mannheim is situated in one of the largest and most beautiful Nouveau areas of Europe, on Friedrichplatz.

The Wasserturm was completed in 1886. The yellow baroque sandstone building once served as a reservoir for drinking water.

The Schloss Mannheim is one of the largest baroque palaces in Europe.

The building was severely damaged during World War II. Since then the main part of the palace has been rebuilt.

3. Jesuitenkirche


The Jesuintenkirche is one of the most important baroque churches in the southeast.

It was built from drawings by Alessandro Galli da Bibiena and completed in 1760.

4. SAP Arena

SAP Arena

SAP Arena is the place where all kinds of events happen from big concerts to cultural events and shows.

It is home to the ice hockey team Mannheimer Adler and the handball team Rhein-Neckar-Löwen.

Fernmeldeturm is a concrete telecommunications tower 212.8 meters in height.
