1. Neuschwanstein Castle

The Neuschwanstein Castle is a symbol of Germany and one of the most beautiful castles in the world. It is located near Hohenschwangau and Füssen in south-west Bavaria.

The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II and was inspired by the work of his friend and composer Richard Wagner. The castle is so grandiose that it inspired Walt Disney to build the Cinderella Castle.

2. Hohenschwangau Castle

The Hohenschwangau Castle was first mentioned in the 12th century. It is located near the city of Füssen.

3. Charlottenburg Palace

During the Second World War, the palace was damaged but it was reconstructed.

It is closed for visits due to restoration. Only the park can be visited.

The Burg Eltz is a medieval castle situated in the hills above the Moselle river between Koblenz and Trier in Germany.

The castle was completely restored between 2009 – 2012. These measures included structural repairs and repairs to the roof.

The Reichsburg Castle is located in the town of Cochem, along the Moselle. Like the Rhine, the Moselle served as a route from France and Luxembourg.

The Schwerin Castle was built between 1845 – 1857. It is located on the Schlossinsel on the main lake of the city.

The interior is sumptuously decorated with fine silk wallpaper and golden ornaments.

The Nymphenburg Castle is located in the western part of Munich.

The castle owes its foundation as a summer residence for the birth of the expected heir to the throne, Max Emanuel, born in 1662, son of the prince elector Ferdinand Maria and Adelaide of Savoy.
